Greetings!
I wish to introduce myself to all of our institute’s EPIK teachers, TaLK scholars, and our partners. My name is Song Dal Yong, and I am the Executive Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department at the National Institute for International Education.
I realize that I am addressing you in what are difficult times for our schools, country, and throughout the world. First of all, I want to thank everyone who is making an effort to bring us to more stable and recognizable times. Although the EPIK and TaLK spring intakes wrapped up at the end of February, schools are just now opening following months of postponement. I would like to give my appreciation to those who taught from home through online classes and supported their schools by preparing lessons and materials during these unique circumstances.
We should take comfort that while we may have more still to endure, better days will soon return. As things progress over the next year, I hope you have the chance to make fond memories, gain a multitude of teaching skills, and impact the lives of your students. Please take this opportunity to learn all you can about Korea. Once again, I send my gratitude and warmest wishes to you all.
Sincerely,
Song Dal Yong
Executive Director of International Exchange and Cooperation
